Final Analysis
The Stainless Steel Zojirushi NP-HBC18 Rice Cooker cooks any type of rice to perfection. The timer is spot on and the rice comes out exactly the way you want it every time.
With this rice cooker you have tons of options and it makes rice within a decent time – not as fast as some but it tastes great when it’s done. The bad thing about this rice cooker is the fact that it is fairly expensive. It is originally priced at over $350 and that is fairly expensive for any kitchen appliance. Additionally the nonstick bowl that goes into the cooker can be scratched fairly easily so you will end up having to replace it later.
Overall a good rice cooker but it has the same features as rice cookers about $200 or more less.

This is my favorite rice cooker. I bought it three months ago and have already made a ton of great food. My favorite feature is the fact that it makes rice what rice was really meant to be like. In all truth, this is the best rice cooker I’ve ever owned.
It even has this really cool built in plastic cover that kind of flips open and closed. It cooks with an induction heating process, preventing the unit from getting too hot while in use. That’s using magnets for heat in case you didn’t know. The timer is really easy to set and the rice stays perfect even when you leave it warming for hours on end.
Everyone should have one of these and overall it’s well worth the cost. It just seems like my rice is very tender and more full than traditionally prepared rice. Thank god for this rice cooker, without it the holidays wouldn’t be the same.
