Do you have some people on your holiday gift list this year that are either young, young at heart, or just like to collect model planes? If so, the Aviation Military Collectible A-1H Skyraider USAF Desktop Wood Model plane may be the perfect choice.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider, an American one seat attack jet, was used in the 1950s through the early 1970s. Nicknamed “Spad” for a fighter plane used in World War 1, it was driven by a propeller.
This plane had quite a successful and long career, even inspiring the A-10 Thunderbolt II, or Warthog, its own successor, The Skyraider was used in the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Marines, and the U.S. Air Force.
It was also put in service by the Air Force of the Republic of Vietnam, the British Royal Navy and the French Air Force. This model of the Douglas A-1 Skyraider is hand made from wood, scaled 1/40 with a wing span of 15 inches and 11.75 inches long.
Beautifully and expertly handmade and hand painted, the model made from mahogany wood. With such a realistic appearance, you may feel that you can climb right in and take off if only you were just a bit smaller.
